Opening Times November  – February  

The visitor centre is open from 9am to 4.45pm

The first shuttle bus to the castle is at 9.15am

The last bus to the castle and garden is at 3.45pm

The last tour of the castle is 4pm

The last bus return from castle is at 4.45pm

All single bus tickets from the castle must be purchased before 4pm

The Park is open from dawn till dusk

Castle Tours will be limited during the off peak and busy season

The last tour of the castle will be 4.30pm

Castle tours are limited during the winter season

Due to poor internet connection our credit card facilities can sometimes be down, we advise that our visitors carry cash when visiting the park.

 




.A Castle Tour can only be booked when you arrive at the Castle.

We advise that you arrive early to avoid disappointment.

All Services are closed Christmas Week ( 24th Dec – 2nd Jan) & Good Friday 

The National Park is open to walkers all year around including Christmas week

 

The Park may close at short notice during extreme weather conditions.

We advise that all visitors to use the shuttle bus during stormy weather.

The Walkers Bus for individual walkers will run to the Lough Inshagh Trail in Gartan & The Head of The Glen near Lough Barra every Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holiday Monday’s all year around at 10am. A total of six persons or more must travel for Glen to operate.  (Weather Permitting)The park Walkers Bus Tickets can be purchased at the Visitor Centre.The fare is €2/€3. This service takes walkers from the car park to drop off points at the  start of the Lough Inshagh Walk at Gartan (8km). The bus then continues via Glendowan,  where walkers are dropped off at the ‘Head of the Glen’ to start the walk back to the Visitor Centre along the Glen (Bridle Path) Walk (8km). Limited Spaces Available.

Private Walking Groups wishing to book a private shuttle service to The head of the Glen / Lough Inshagh are asked to contact the park direct. Where possible we will accommodate your group at a charge of €5 per person. Limited to 24 persons. At least one weeks notice is advised. Subject to availability
