Opening Times 1st April – 31st October  2019

The Park is open from dawn till dust

The visitor centre is open from 9.15am to 5.30pm

The first shuttle bus to the castle is at 9.30am

The last bus to the castle and garden is at 4.45pm

The last bus return from castle is at 5.45pm

 




.A Castle Tour can only be booked when you arrive at the Castle.

Public Castle Tours will be limited during the month of May.

We advise that you arrive early to avoid disappointment.

All Services are closed Christmas Week ( 24th Dec – 2nd Jan) & Good Friday 

The National Park is open to walkers all year around including Christmas week

The Walkers Bus for individual walkers will run to the Lough Inshagh Trail in Gartan & The Head of The Glen near Lough Barra every Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holiday Monday’s all year around at 10am.A total of six persons or more must travel for Glen to operate.  (Weather Permitting)

Walking Groups wishing to book a private shuttle service to The head of the Glen / Lough Inshagh are asked to contact the park direct. Where possible we will accommodate your group at a charge of €3 per person. Limited to 24 persons. At least one weeks notice is advised. Subject to availability  

Tickets can be purchased at the Visitor Centre.The fare is €2/€3. This service takes walkers from the car park to drop off points at the  start of the Lough Inshagh Walk at Gartan (8km). The bus then continues via Glendowan,  where walkers are dropped off at the ‘Head of the Glen’ to start the walk back to the Visitor Centre along the Glen (Bridle Path) Walk (8km). Limited Spaces Available.

Castle Tours will be limited during the off peak and busy season
