In line with public health advice and with careful planning we are pleased to be offering a small selection of walks and events over the summer.

All must be booked by emailing our Education Centre at glenveagh-education@housing.gov.ie or calling us on 0761 002691. Limited Numbers apply.

 

Never Visited Glenveagh Before? Fancy a gentle stroll and friendly chat with our Education Guides, with the option to finish with a coffee in the great outdoors before you explore the rest of the park?

Every Wednesday from 14th July, 11am, 1 Hour, Suitable for those who like to take their time. No charge.

Woodland Adventures for little legs and busy hands! Short Guided Family Walk with activities for younger children.

Bring your own empty jam jar, pencil and lots of energy! Every Thursday from 15th July, 11.30am, 1 Hour. No charge. Please book minimal adult places where possible to leave space for children.

For the Early Risers and those who like to explore for longer…Early Morning Walk with your own picnic coffee stop by the fire in the old deer stalking hut.

We’ll take you by bus to the Head of the Glen and then enjoy walking the ‘Bridle Path’ – the old original pathway into Glenveagh. We’ll share how the how the landscape has changed over time and what we’re doing to protect and enhance the habitats and species in this stunning wild end of the park. Friday 30th July, 8.30am, 5 Hours, 7km walk Price include shuttle bus back from the castle the the car park. 5 Euro pp. More dates expected soon.

Why not join us for a 1 Day Leave No Trace Awareness Course, where we’ll take you through what it means to use the outdoors responsibly and help you explore how you can help share the message in your own area.
