‘Respecting & Protecting our Native Plants’

 

Step back in time, come and meet the previous owners of the Castle on Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th August from

1pm - 5pm.

 

Best dressed Lady of Glenveagh Castle on Sunday 29th August from 1pm - 5pm, win 1 night B&B in one of Donegal's finest hotels.

 

A Week of Talks, Workshops & Activities for all the family on how important our Irish Plant Life is.

 

Free Days @ the Park on both weekends.

Traditional Music Sessions @ the Castle

 

Art and Poetry Competition for Children.

Collect your pack from the visitor centre and explore the grounds using your imagination to draw and write about the flowers and plants you find. Prizes include fantastic young artists hamper and the chance to have your work turned into a postcard for charity.

 

Photography Competition (From 1st August)

Send your images of Irish Wildflowers to the Nature Team and we'll display them all week in the visitor centre. Images must be a minimum size of 8" x 6" and ready to display. Prizes include a voucher for photographic equipment. Send images to: The Nature Centre, Glenveagh National Park, Churchill, Co. Donegal.

 

 

 

 

Tuesday 24th August

Garden Discovery Day

Come and explore the wonderful world of Glenveagh Gardens with the nature team.Booking essential. 2pm - 4pm.

 

Friday 27th August

Potions and Lotions with Bog Myrtle

Demonstration and sale of cosmetics made with this incredible native bog plant. 10.30 - 2pm.

 

Our Love of Plants

Looking back at the long history of botanical knowledge in Ireland. An illustrated talk followed by a guided walk with head gardener Sean O Gaoithin. 3pm - 5pm. Booking essential.

Bring along your musical instruments, sing a song & join in the craic.
