Nature and Outdoor Learning Centre
New Programmes for 2012!
Greenwave – Visit us from February through to May and help us observe and record the arrival of Spring in the park as part of this exciting Europe wide
project.
Mammal Day – Come along and learn more about the tracks and signs of mammals in Ireland and in particular how you can get involved in recording what mammals you see. We cannot promise you’ll get to see the creatures for real, but we can have great fun learning about what mammals live in Glenveagh and what you can do to protect these amazing creatures. Children will leave with a booklet, where they’ve recorded the information they’ve learned during their visit.
For Infants – New specially designed activity day focused on sorting, matching, describing and identifying trees/leaves . This day uses a variety of tools and resources to support the very young in learning the names and shapes of the natural wonders they’ll find for themselves on their walk. In the afternoon each child will create a collage picture of their favourite leaf of flower to take home.
Discover Primary Science and Maths – Contact us if you are working towards your DPSM award and would like a nature activity day tailored to include a Maths element. Available for all ages.

Our Mission...
We hope to inspire an interest in nature and develop children and young people’s appreciation for the natural world, encouraging them to respect and protect biodiversity. We promote active learning and believe that all a child’s senses should be stimulated in order to help them learn effectively about the outdoors. The programme takes a very hands on, practical approach, where we hope to make learning about nature and the environment exciting, fun and relevant. Our sessions are informal, child lead where possible and use a variety of creative activities to engage and inspire every individual at their own level. Please download our brochure to see the full range of activities we deliver. If you have any query's please do not hesitate to contact us at the above email or ring us at 074 913 7698.
