Bus Service – Glenveagh National Park
During Visitor Services opening times a shuttle bus will run daily from the visitor centre to the castle. (Weather permitting)
The Walkers Bus for individual walkers will run to the Lough Inshagh Trail in Gartan & The Head of The Glen near Lough Barra every Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holidays Monday all year around at 10am. (Weather Permitting)
Walking Groups wishing to book a private shuttle service to The head of the Glen / Lough Inshagh are asked to contact the park direct. Where possible we will accommodate your group at a charge of €3 per person. Limited to 24 persons. One weeks notice is advised. Subject to availability
The National Park is open all year around including Christmas week.
The Visitor Services Castle tours will be limited during the month of January, it is advised that you call in advance to avoid disappointment. 0761002551
Tickets can be purchased at the Visitor Centre.The fare is €2/€3. This service takes walkers from the car park to drop off points at the start of the Lough Inshagh Walk at Gartan (8km). The bus then continues via Glendowan, where walkers are dropped off at the ‘Head of the Glen’ to start the walk back to the Visitor Centre along the Glen (Bridle Path) Walk (8km). Limited Spaces Available.
The walker ticket purchased can also be used to catch the bus from the castle back to the Visitor Centre near the carpark.
